Vielleicht wäre es für Brendan Adams passender gewesen Rapper zu werden. Geboren und aufgewachsen in Kapstadt, Südafrika, war es die Rapmusik, die den Soundtrack zu Brendans Teenagerzeit lieferte. Das heißt, bis zu dem Punkt, an dem er die E-Gitarre und Singer-Songwriter-Legenden Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix und Sixto Rodriguez entdeckte, deren Bedeutung für die Südafrikaner zu dem Zeitpunkt nicht einmal ihm klar war.

Das Naturtalent Brendan brachte sich selbst das Gitarrespielen bei und beschert nun den Zuhörern hier wie dort eine ganz eigene Kapstadt-Mischung des Urban Folk. Die Dinge hätten auch ganz anders enden können.
Inzwischen ist Brendan gerade dabei sein viertes Album, Spirit, zu veröffentlichne. Produziert von Alvaro Alencar, der bisher schon 10 Latin Grammy Awards einheimsen konnte, glänzt das Album mit 12 schönen Songs, die sowohl Brendans musikalische Vorbilder als auch seinen unverkennbar eigenen Stil ausstrahlt. 
Brendan Adams Musik kann als Folk-Afro-Pop beschrieben werden - ein eizigartiger Mix Kapstädtischer Musik-Vibes.

Perhaps it would have been more fitting were Brendan Adams to become a rapper. Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, it was rap music that provided the soundtrack to Brendan’s teenage years. That is, until he discovered the guitar and singer-songwriter legends Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix and Sixto Rodriguez, whose significance to South Africans was unbeknownst at the time, even to himself. Brendan was one of those persons inspired by Rodriguez’ protest hymns.

A natural talent, Brendan taught himself to play guitar and now bestows his own Cape Town blend of urban folk upon audiences far and wide. Things could have ended very differently though. Meanwhile Brendan is to release his fourth album Spirit. Produced by Àlvaro Alencar, who has been awarded 10 Latin Grammy awards to date, the album includes 12 beautiful songs which emanate both the influence of Brendans musical heroes and a distinctive uniqueness. In the recording studio “Toca da Bandido” in Rio de Janeiro Brendan recorded his intimate and spiritual Cape urban Folk.
Brendan Adams music could be described as folk,afro pop. A unique blend of The Cape Town vibes of music.
