SAL & Rebecca Ruane (IRL)
SAL ist eine etwas andere Singer-Songwriterin aus Cork City. Ihre Musik erkundet die vielen Farben des Spektrums der Popmusik, wobei sie stets ihre eigene Vielseitigkeit als Künstlerin unter Beweis stellt und gleichzeitig ihre Pop-Sensibilität bewahrt.
Ursprünglich aus der Grafschaft Kildare stammend, hat SAL die letzten Jahre in Cork verbracht, wo sie ständig kreativ ist und auftritt. Nachdem sie einen Managementvertrag mit dem in London ansässigen Charlie B Management unterzeichnet hatte, wurde SAL beim Liverpool Irish Festival 2021 vorgestellt, wo sie mit ihrer Band ein Set aus brandneuem Material präsentierte. „Ich liebe es, mich mit anderen Menschen durch die von mir geschriebenen Songs zu verbinden“, sagt SAL. „...die Verbindung mit dem Publikum ist unglaublich, wenn man auf der Bühne steht.“
Zwei ihrer Singles, 'Bullet In The Heart' und 'Everything', wurden von den Radio- und Musikmedien in Irland und Großbritannien äußerst positiv aufgenommen. In der Welt der Live-Musik hat SAL schon viel erlebt, von Auftritten auf einigen der renommiertesten Bühnen und Festivals in Irland bis hin zu regelmäßigen Shows in Großbritannien und Deutschland. Auf ihrem Weg hat sie die Bühne mit einigen großartigen Künstlern geteilt, wie Declan O'Rourke, Aimee, Scullion, Hermitage Green, Mick Flannery, The Stunning, Luka Bloom, Wyvern Lingo und vielen anderen.
In diesem Jahr absolvierte SAL ihre erfolgreiche Café-Tour durch Irland und veröffentlichte ihre vierte Single „Red Wine“, die sofort auf Platz 1 der irischen iTunes-Charts einstieg, sowie „Kerosene“, die Platz 5 der irischen iTunes-Charts erreichte. Davor erreichte SALs dritte Single „Merry Go Round“ ebenfalls Platz 1 der irischen iTunes-Charts, womit SAL innerhalb von fünf Monaten zwei Nummer-1-Singles veröffentlicht hat.
2023 ist bereits ein großes Jahr für SAL, denn nach ihren zwei aufeinanderfolgenden Nummer-1-Singles ging sie als Support für den brillanten TOUCAN auf eine nationale Tournee durch Irland und spielte ausverkaufte Shows in Veranstaltungsorten wie dem Theatre, Royal Waterford und Whelan's Dublin.
Nachdem sie im Sommer bei Konzerten in London ein neues Publikum kennengelernt hat, freut sich die Künstlerin darauf, Declan O'Rourke in Cork und Killarney auf seiner bevorstehenden Akustik-Tour zu unterstützen und mit Niall McCabe durch Irland zu touren. SAL hat noch viel mehr vor, und das ist erst der Anfang.
Rebecca Ruane ist eine Sängerin, Songschreiberin und Dichterin aus Galway, die einen erstklassigen Master-Abschluss in Vocal Performance und einen Abschluss in Populärer Musik hat und derzeit Mitglied des Peer Panel für den Arts Council of Ireland ist.
Sie ist landesweit als Leadsängerin aufgetreten und hat auch als Backgroundsängerin für Shane Filan, The Voice of Ireland, TOUCAN, Daniel O'Donnell, SAL und Niamh Regan gearbeitet.
Tall Tail war ihr Debüt als Theaterautorin in Zusammenarbeit mit Conor Clancy und ALSA-Produktionen, die beim Midsummer Festival in Cork (2019) ausverkauft waren und ein weiteres Stück bei der Graffiti Theatre Company. Vor kurzem hat Rebecca begonnen, in Zusammenarbeit mit Conor Clancy und Hanan Sheedy und mit Unterstützung des Arts Council Ireland ein Musical zu schreiben.
Rebeccas Gedichte wurden sowohl national als auch international in Skylight 47, WordCityLit, Stoney Thursday, Vox Galvia, Lothlorien Poetry Journal, Poetry With Pride 22', ThePlatformOnline.uk usw. veröffentlicht. Sie hat Lesungen bei Over The Edge, Limesquare Poets und Hall of The Red Earl gegeben und war mit ihrem Stück beim Quare-Festival in Cork vertreten. Außerdem wurde sie von Keith Payne (Cork City Librarys' Poet in Residence) und von Skylight47s Open Window Mentorship mit Mary Madec ausgewählt.

SAL is a Cork City based singer-songwriter with a difference. Her music explores the many colours in the spectrum of pop music, always showcasing her own versatility as an artist, whilst maintaining her pop sensibilities.
Originally hailing from County Kildare, SAL has spent her recent years in Cork, creating and performing all the time. After signing a management deal with London based Charlie B Management, SAL was unveiled at Liverpool Irish Festival 2021, where she showcased a set of brand new material with her band. “I love connecting with other people through songs that I’ve written…”, says SAL. “…the connection with the audience is amazing when you’re on stage.”
Two of her singles, ‘Bullet In The Heart’, and ‘Everything’, both received an extremely warm welcome from radio and music media in Ireland and the UK. In the world of live music, SAL has covered a huge amount of ground, from gracing stages in some of Ireland’s most prestigious venues and festivals, to regular shows in the UK and Germany. Along the way, she has shared the stage with some amazing artists, such as Declan O’Rourke, Aimee, Scullion, Hermitage Green, Mick Flannery, The Stunning, Luka Bloom, Wyvern Lingo, and many more.
This year SAL underwent her successful cafe tour of Ireland, as well as releasing her fourth single ‘Red Wine’ which instantly went to Number #1 in the Irish iTunes Charts and ‘Kerosene’ which reached to Number #5 in the Irish iTunes Charts. Prior to this, SAL’s third single, ‘Merry Go Round’ also reached to Number #1 in the Irish iTunes Charts, SAL has reached to two Number #1 singles in the space of five months.
2023 is already a big year for SAL, following her two consecutive Number #1 singles, she then did a national tour of Ireland supporting the brilliant TOUCAN, performing sold out shows in venues such as Theatre, Royal Waterford and Whelan’s Dublin.
After connecting with new audiences at shows in London during the summer, the artist looks ahead to supporting Declan O’Rourke in Cork and Killarney on his upcoming acoustic tour and also touring with Niall McCabe across Ireland. With lots more up her sleeve, SAL is only getting started.
Rebecca Ruane is a vocalist, songwriter and poet from Galway who holds a first class Masters Degree in Vocal Performance, a Degree in Popular Music and is a current member of the Peer Panel for The Arts Council of Ireland.
She has performed as a lead in her own right across the country as well as backing vocalist for Shane Filan, The Voice of Ireland, TOUCAN, Daniel O’Donnell, SAL, and Niamh Regan.
Tall Tail was her theatre writing debut in collaboration with Conor Clancy and ALSA productions to a sold out run in Cork’s Midsummer Festival (2019) and another at Graffiti Theatre Company. Rebecca has recently begun writing a musical in collaboration with Conor Clancy and Hanan Sheedy with the support of Arts Council Ireland.
As for poetry, Rebecca’s work has been published both nationally and internationally in Skylight 47, WordCityLit, Stoney Thursday, Vox Galvia, Lothlorien Poetry Journal, Poetry With Pride 22’, ThePlatformOnline.uk, etc. She has given readings at Over The Edge, Limesquare Poets and Hall of The Red Earl as well as having her piece in Cork Citys’ Quare festival and has been selected for mentorship by Keith Payne (Cork City Librarys’ Poet in residence) and Skylight47s Open Window mentorship with mary Madec.
