Eine Achterbahnfahrt: So könnte man ein Konzert von Billie Bird beschreiben. Und sie macht Spaß! Denn sie hat Tiefgang. Man sagt, dass Humor eine Überlebensstrategie ist: Humor wird notwendig sein, um diese Geschichten über Trauer, Kummer und Zweifel zu überstehen, denn Billie Bird scheut sich nicht, dorthin zu gehen, wo es weh tut. Die Künstlerin und Aktivistin französischer und spanischer Abstammung hat die Gabe, sofortige Wärme und Verbundenheit zwischen Menschen zu schaffen, und davon macht sie in ihrer Show reichlich Gebrauch.

Begleitet von der Synthesizer- und Klaviervirtuosin Laura Livers präsentiert sie Songs aus ihrem Debütalbum „Incendies“, das im März 2023 bei Mouthwatering Records erscheint, aber nicht nur: zeitgenössische Klangbäder, Groove, Multi-Layer, satte Gitarren-Pickings und eine Stimme, die „jeden verfolgt, der sie kreuzt“. Billie Bird ist auch sehr aktiv in der Unterstützung von Künstlern auf ihrem künstlerischen Weg (Opération Iceberg, Gustav Academy, Projet Proxima) und engagiert sich seit 5 Jahren in der Organisation Helvetiarockt für die Sensibilisierung und Bewusstseinsbildung in der Musikindustrie durch die Organisation von Workshops und die Entwicklung von Gemeinschaften von Finta-Künstlern. Als queer-feministische Künstlerin spricht sie oft laut über verschiedene Ungleichheiten und versucht, die Finta- und Queer-Community und ihre Rechte sichtbar zu machen. Sie schreibt auch Musik für Theater- und Tanzprojekte und arbeitete mit Regisseuren wie Emilie Charriot, 2b Company, Géraldine Chollet und Mathieu Bertholet zusammen.

Billie Bird wurde kürzlich bei den Schweizer Musikpreisen als „Best act Romandie“ nominiert. 2019 erhielt sie den Preis „Nationale Sprache“ bei den Swiss Live Talents Awards, der von einer internationalen Fachjury vergeben wird, und wurde von der Zeitung „Le Temps“ zu einer der hundert Persönlichkeiten der Westschweiz ernannt. Les Inrocks sind vernarrt in La Nuit, das Lied ihrer Rückkehr ins Französische: „Es ist die Art von Lied, die wir nicht kommen sahen und die wir vielleicht nicht so schnell vergessen können.“ Nachdem sie als Vorgruppe von Benjamin Clementine, Piers Faccini und Shannon Wright aufgetreten ist, tritt Billie Bird nun an renommierten Orten in der Schweiz und im Ausland (Frankreich, Marokko, Japan) auf, darunter das Paléo Festival, das Antigel Festival, die Montreux Jazz Academy, und sie eröffnete für ihre gute Freundin Anne Pacéo im La Cigale in Paris. Im November ist sie mit Black Sea Dahu und Odd Beholder auf Tournee in Deutschland und Frankreich.

Billie Bird is also very active in supporting artists in their artistic journey (Opération Iceberg, Gustav Academy, Projet Proxima), take action since 5 years in the organisation Helvetiarockt to sensitize and raise awareness in the music industry through organizing workshops & developping communities of finta artists. As a queer feminist artist, she often speaks out loud on different inequalities and try to visibilze the finta & queer community and their rights. She also writes music for theater and dance projects and worked with directors like Emilie Charriot, 2b Company, Géraldine Chollet and Mathieu Bertholet.

Billie Bird was recently nominated at the swiss music awards for “Best act Romandie”. In 2019 she received the "National Language" prize at the Swiss Live Talents Awards, awarded by an international jury of professionals, and was nominated one of the hundred personalities who make up French-speaking Switzerland by the newspaper "Le Temps". As for Les Inrocks, they are infatuated with La Nuit, the song of her return to French: "It's the kind of song we didn't see coming, and which we might not be able to forget any time soon."
