NURK (USA)

Der Diario de Cadíz beschrieb NURK einmal als „wirklich schwer zu kategorisieren: ein witziger und verträumter Lo-Fi-Barde, der sich wie ein Fisch im Wasser zwischen explizit sexuellem Rock und romantischen, intimen und düsteren Balladen mit Pop-Einschlag bewegt“.
Kritiker und Publikum vergleichen den Sound mit Pulp, Jonathan Richman und Devendra Banhart und sogar mit Bowie und Roy Orbison.

Zuletzt hat NURK die Single „DidYaEva“ veröffentlicht. Zu seinen früheren Veröffentlichungen gehören God Is an EP, Season One, Easy Installations, eine gleichnamige EP und Even More Songs of Death and Desire (mit Fancy Ladies).
NURK begann als Solo-Song-und-Tanz-Mann"-Projekt in Austin. Nach seinem Umzug nach Madrid wuchs das Projekt zu einem Kollektiv von Musikern aus den USA und Europa heran. Seit 2008 ist NURK in ganz Europa sowie in New York und Texas mit Künstlern wie Viking Moses, Tim Holehouse (UK), Peter Piek (Deutschland), Myrra Rós (Island) und Toby Goodshank (Moldy Peaches, NYC) auf Tournee gewesen.
Derzeit ist NURK auf „The End of Elegance“-Tour und spielt einige bisher unveröffentlichte Songs in ganz Europa. Außerdem sind die Aufnahmen für das nächste Projekt bereits im Gange.

Since 2008, NURK has toured throughout Europe, as well as in New York and Texas with acts such as Viking Moses, Tim Holehouse (UK), Peter Piek (Germany), Myrra Rós (Iceland), and Toby Goodshank (Moldy Peaches, NYC).
Currently, NURK is embarking on “The End of Elegance” tour, playing some previously unreleased songs around Europe. As well, recordings for the next project are already in progress.
