Caboose (IT)
Caboose ist eine Gruppe, die 2018 von zwei Musikern aus Benevento, Italien, gegründet wurde. Sie eint die Leidenschaft für eine besondere Art von Blues, den Hill-Country, dessen modale Form und obsessiver Rhythmus seine deutlichere afrikanische Komponente betonen. Das Duo, bestehend aus Luigi De Cicco (Gitarre, Gesang) und Carlo Corso (Schlagzeug), bietet somit eine Musik, die mehr eine Herangehensweise als ein Genre ist - getestet in über hundert Konzerten in Europa und den Vereinigten Staaten, was es ihnen ermöglicht hat, einen Sound zu perfektionieren, der von Psych-Rock bis Jazz und Soul reicht.
Die Wahl der musikalischen Genres sollte jedoch nicht in die Irre führen: Während das Duo bestimmten Stilen verpflichtet bleibt, bleibt es einem klanglichen Nomadentum treu, das sich stets in der Balance zwischen Hommage und Kontamination befindet, was sich auch in den Texten widerspiegelt, die sich um die Figur des Fremden und des Reisenden drehen. Nach der gleichnamigen CD "Caboose" (2018) und "Hinterland Blues" (2019) erscheint 2022 ihr drittes Album bei dem in Rom ansässigen Label BLOOS records (The Cyborgs, Corey Harris). Während ihrer Tourneen waren sie Open Acts für Künstler wie Watermelon Slim, Robert Kimbrough jr., Eric Bibb, Francesco Piu, Shanna Waterstown; ihre Songs wurden auf Radio 3, Radio città Futura, Radio Eins gesendet.

Caboose is a group founded in 2018 by two musicians from Benevento, Italy, united by their passion for a particular kind of blues, hill-country, whose modal form and obsessive rhythm emphasize its more distinctly african component. The duo, made up of Luigi De Cicco (guitar, vocals) and Carlo Corso (drums), thus offers music that is more of an approach than a genre - tested in over a hundred concerts in Europe and the United States, which has enabled them to perfect a sound that ranges from psych-rock to jazz and soul. The choice of musical genres should not, however, be misleading: while remaining indebted to certain styles, the duo remains faithful to a sonic nomadism always in the balance between homage and contamination, which is also reflected in the lyrics, centred on the figure of the stranger and the traveller. After the eponymous CD "Caboose"(2018) and "Hinterland Blues" (2019), 2022 will see the release of their third album for the Rome-based label BLOOS records (The Cyborgs, Corey Harris). During their tours they have been open acts for artists such as Watermelon Slim, Robert Kimbrough jr., Eric Bibb, Francesco Piu, Shanna Waterstown; their songs broadcast on Radio 3, Radio città Futura, Radio Eins.
