Ruby Jean Rose (USA)

Die gebürtige US-Amerikanerin Ruby Jean Rose zog bereits als Teenager nach Großbritannien und begann damals direkt, in lokalen Bars zu spielen, wo sie auch große Künstler wie Marcus Foster unterstützte. Nach Ihrer Schulzeit arbeitete als Sound-Technikerin und organisierte Konzerte aber sie wusste immer, dass ihr Platz zum Krach machen auf der Bühne war.

Sie entschied sich dazu, nach Berlin zu ziehen um sich selbst als Künstlerin und Performerin voranzubringen. In Zusammenarbeit mit verschiedenen Künstlern auch in England entstanden in der Folge ein eigenes Album und eine Single sowie andere Kooperationen. Das Wichtigste, das in dieser Zeit aber passierte, war, dass sie Ihre Musik auf die Straße brachte.
Im letzten Jahr tat sie sich mit dem Banjo-Spieler und Sänger David Stewart Ingleton zusammen. Zusammen entwickelten sie Rubys eigene Art von Americana weiter, während sie durch Europatourten und zwei EPs mit Tomas Peralta aufnahmen. Ihre Einzigartigkeit innerhalb des Genres zog weitere Künstler an, die die Konzerte sogar noch vielfältiger machten. Seitdem kehrte Rub auch die USA und nach UK zurück, um zu touren und auf Festivals zu spielen, während sie regelmäßig weiterhin auf europäischen Straßen und in Irish Pubs unterwegs ist. Für Ruby gibt es überall eine Bühne.

Ruby Jean Rose was born in the US but moved to the UK as a teenager. She started playing in the local bars right away, supporting great artists such as Marcus Foster. After she left school she started working as a live sound engineer and organising concerts (Carnivalesque 2013) but she knew her place was on stage making the noise.
She decided to move to Berlin to push herself as an artist and performer. With regular trips to the UK, she recorded and album and single with Simon Rompani & Keith Clarke (Ain't Gonna Break & Shiver), supported artists such as Dodgy and The Beat and co - wrote a song with Jamie Freeman (Bad Girls). The most important thing that happened to her in this time was bringing her music to the street.
Last year she teamed up with banjo player and vocalist David Stewart Ingleton. Together they further developed Ruby's own brand of americana by touring Europe and recording two EPs with Tomas Peralta (The second to be released this autumn). Her unique take on the genre began to attract more live performers only making her concerts more diverse. Since then, Ruby has returned to the US & UK to perform at venues and Festivals such as Hotel Cafe (LA) and Red Rooster Festival (Suffolk) while regularly touring Europe playing on the streets and irish bars. For Ruby, anywhere can be her stage.
