Gráinne Hunt (IRL)
Grainne Hunt ist eine moderne Folk-Sängerin und Songwriterin aus Irland. Mit ihrer starken, fesselnden Stimme und brillant gemachten, einfühlsamen Liedern hat Grainne bereits die Bühne mit Glen Hansard und Mark Geary geteilt. Sie wurde schon vielfach mit Gesangsikonen wie Tracy Chapman oder Nathalie Merchant verglichen.
2017 war ein sehr geschäftiges Jahr für Grainne. So stand sie für Solo-Auftritte in London, Berlin, Köln, Düsseldorf und an der Westküste der USA auf der Bühne. Außerdem war sie Headliner beim Schottenfest in Wien und Special Guest beim Kaltern Fest in Südtirol, letzteres gemeinsam mit dem Chor Cantus Domus. Daheim in Irland freute sie sich über eine ausverkaufte Show im Rathfarnham Castle und über ein Reise- und Weiterbildungs-Stipendium vom irischen Arts Council. Nebenher war sie ausführlich mit Mark Geary in Irland, Deutschland, Italien sowie in der Schweiz und in den USA auf Tour, um dessen neues Album vorzustellen.
Dieses Jahr spielte Grainne bereits beim Celtic Connections Festival und beim Jameson St. Patrick's Day Festival in Prag. Außerdem begeisterte sie ihr Publikum in Berlin, Wien, Luzern, Düsseldorf und Köln. Zur Zeit halt sich Grainne zuhause in Irland auf, um an Material für ihr zweites Album zu arbeiten, das Ende 2018 erscheinen soll. Anfang 2019 wird dann ein Irish Folk Album veröffentlicht, das sie gemeinsam mit dem Gitarristen Brendan Walsh, der bereits einige Musikpreise gewonnen hat, in den Soundville Studios in Luzern aufgenommen hat.

Grainne Hunt is a singer and songwriter from Monaghan. With consistently on-point, captivating vocals and well-honed, insightful songs, Grainne has shared stages with Glen Hansard and Mark Geary and has been compared to vocal icons Tracy Chapman and Nathalie Merchant.
2017 was an extremely busy year for Grainne, which included solo gigs on the West Coast of the US, Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, London, a headline slot at Schottenfest Vienna, a special guest slot with choir Cantus Domus at Kaltern Fest Italy, a sold out show at Rathfarnham Castle and the awarding of an Arts Council Travel and Training Grant. Alongside this she has toured extensively with Mark Geary in Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the US in support of his new album,.
Already this year she has played at Celtic Connections and Jameson St Patrick's Day Festival in Prague, Berlin, Vienna, Luzern, Dusseldorf and Koln. Back to Ireland now, she is continuing to work on new material for her second release, due in late 2018. Early 2019 will see the release of an Irish folk album recorded with award winning guitarist Brendan Walsh in Soundville Studios Luzern.
